Incarnations

These shoots, which all took place on the same day Sunday October 17th 2010 were all about embodying an idea, persona, and image.  Hence: incarnations

We had an incredible day, it was  fairly brief and very productive, lasting about 6 hours We all really got our hands dirty and didn’t let any rules or “boxes” confine our visions.

The influences are many and hard to place a label on, some are more clear than others.

In this photo set I prefer to let the viewer to extrapolate upon the image.

Character Duality

Most folks same that I am character, I say they are absolutely right!

This was an impromptu photo shoot, for which the results were rewarding.

As the subject we worked through many different body shapes and setups.

In retrospect during this shoot I was in a place in my life of still finding

my higher ground, whilst challenging myself to grow.

I enjoy the difference in the two different photographers perspective in this shoot.

Athletica

Athletic, is an iconic word that brings forth many words and images.

A few that come to the forefront of my mind are : competition, discipline, endurance, perseverance, trainers (shoes), boxing gloves, wraps, and perspiration.

Our goal with this shoot was to capture the model in several moods, from stretching, relaxing, jabbing at an unseen opponent.

Whether that opponent is physical, mental, or spiritual is all in the eye of the beholder

Nothing  always necessarily is what is seems
Challenge yourself and fix your mind’s gaze to delve deeper.

Ramp

I decided to call this shoot Ramp for reasons beyond the obvious, that it was shot in a parking ramp.   Ramp

represents the obstacles of navigating life after momumental shifts in my personal and professional life.

I made decisions  that led me into a place turmoil and confusion later that year.

I was unaware at the time of the hardship that was to come, I truly believe we create our own experiences and

situations.

I choose now to look to the light and future with an open heart and a grounded soul.

Transistor

Photo shoot from Monday June 21st, 2010

Photographer: Benjamin Kaplan

Model: Sean Camillan

Transistor was shot on a very hot evening in late June

Falafel and watermelon were ravaged, and many books and magazines we devoured

Then at around 11 pm

As we began to create, I envisioned a look and a story:

______________________________________________________________________________________
There once was a young man, a spry and attractive individual. He was blessed with the vision and drive to create his greatest dreams and desires. He was called Sundare.

Considered a revolutionary of his generation, widely revered for his original work in countless bio-sound inventions. He pioneered the RB2M. A brilliant application designed to read the brain’s auditory frequencies and create an array of personalized products such as the treasured Lucidity Wave Collection (A catalog of sounds and textures created specifically for any individual using the RB2M).

Even after all his accomplishments and lux lifestyle he was conflicted in his existence.
He set sights on enlightenment. In this process of trying to evolve he became
comfortable moving at the speed of light.

He encountered the beautiful sounds of a new world Cybersoul.
Cybersoul is a place of wonderment. Endless new places and sounds to experience. Including the Polyphonic District where Electro and Neo-Tribal Culture have fused into a rich vibrant scene of colorful buildings and explosive musical romps.

Cybersoul seemed to be brimming with residents who dream up new and exciting ideas and events. He was drawn to travel into this captivating world. During his ascension he came upon many individuals, many kind and helpful. He was intrigued to a powerful figure within Cybersoul; an individual we have learned is called Ersatz.

Ersatz is a figure of power, and one of mystery whose influence can be quite intoxicating. Sundare quickly became enamored with Ersatz knowledge of Cyberworld and all its splendor.
Spending much of his time with Ersatz, Sundare became well known in Cyberworld, his rapid ascent in created tension among certain groups. Sundare seemed unaware of this growing tension.

One evening Sundare was to meet up with Ersatz to discuss a new project, but Ersatz never arrived.
Sundare eventually tired of waiting for him and began to walk home.
When he arrived home, he began to undress he was startled by the telephone ringing.
He lifted the receiver to be greeted to shrieking sounds that couldn’t have passed through the lips of human. As he began to replace the handset the sounds seized and an automated voice spoke:

“You are here by commanded to cease all activities; you have violated code # 85-10-1 under CSTF
Regulations, you are scheduled for immediate isolation. A task force is already at your residence do not attempt to interfere with processing or you will be eradicated.”

As the seemingly disembodied voice spoke Sundare realized it wasn’t an automated robot at all,
but it was Ersatz. Sundare was apprehended and before the telephone touched the floor he was in Ersatz’s custody.

We have learned through a severely damaged recording of Sundare’s processing that:
Ersatz is the head commissioner of the Central Si Task Force, an operative team designed to thwart individuals, artists and anyone promoting expression of any kind.
Ersatz felt that Sundare was going to start a revolt and placed him into a purgatory of artificial resonance.

He struggles to understand the supposed crimes he has committed. Even more confounded by the fact
that he was imprisoned by someone he considered a mentor and friend.
He waits inside this duplicitous and cold cell…
